BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - The mining and railroad industries are both central to the history of Bartow County, and a new entertainment center there uses both as the basis for a series of unique and energetic attractions.
Lakepoint Station is a new addition to the Lakepoint Sporting Community in Emerson, which already includes Terminus Wakepark and the Ralley Volleyball Complex.
Billed as a Family Entertainment Center, Lakepoint Station features several indoor and outdoor adventures for families, ranging from Laser Tag to arcade games. Visitors who aren't afraid of heights can try out the Clip 'n Climb course, an activity which originated in New Zealand and includes more than a dozen climbing challenges.
Meanwhile, Miner Jim's Black Light Odyssey honors the area's mining past by taking Mini-Golf "underground" and into a glow-in-the-dark search for hidden treasure. Along the way, guests will see historical photographs of the area's locomotive and mining past.
