DECATUR, Ga. - As Max gets closer to becoming a service dog for a person with disabilities, he’s staying very busy!
On Wednesday, he em’bark’ed on a fun trip to Preschool at the Heights (PATH) in Decatur. He was joined by his FOX 5 foster Katie Muse, as well as FOX 5’s Krista Littlefield, whose adorable 3-year-old daughter, Reagan, attends the school.
Max met about 65 students, stopping by every classroom at the preschool.
The visit was a great way to help teach younger children about service dogs, and what they do for people in need. The students were all very loving toward Max and learned to ask to pet him before doing so. And, per usual, Max was a huge hit! He was incredibly gentle with his new friends, even offering a few of them some sweet kisses.
"The Operation Max visit was the highlight of the week for the kids at PATH! Like any toddler would, they especially loved the opportunity to be 'hands-on' with Max," FOX 5's Krista Littlefield said after the visit. "Parents told me their children couldn’t stop talking about their very special four-legged visitor."
It was a fun and successful trip, but our Golden Retriever was “maxed” out by the end of it! He snoozed the entire way back to FOX 5 before taking another nap when he arrived home with Katie Wednesday afternoon.
