Music, marriage & cozy socks: Ashlee + Evan stop by Good Day

It’s hard to think of a more appropriate first single for Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross than “I Do,” considering the musical couple’s been married for nearly five years.  And during a recent stop at the FOX 5 Atlanta studios, Simpson and Ross revealed one of the keys to their creativity:  Comfort.

“I love to be comfortable, so, like, cozy socks,” says Simpson when describing her style in the recording studio.  Says Ross, “If we’re going into the studio, even if it’s, like, for three hours, she’s bringing a blanket and a pillow!”

Simpson and Ross recently released their first EP, titled Ashlee + Evan, and have embarked on a multi-city tour of the same name to promote the music.  The tour brought them to Atlanta this week, with a show at The Loft on Thursday night.  “You get to hear some of the songs from the EP, as well as Ashlee does some of the songs that I know her fans are waiting to hear,” says Ross of the tour.  “We have a bunch of fun stuff.  It’s a cool vibe.”

Both artists come from musical families – Evan is son of the legendary singer and Oscar-nominated actress Diana Ross, and Ashlee is sister to singer Jessica Simpson – and both have also been active in front of the camera.  Ross currently appears in a recurring role on the FOX hit Star.

But for now, the couple is focusing on the new music and tour, which continues in Nashville (January 11), Chicago (January 12), Dallas (January 14), San Francisco (January 17), and wraps up in Los Angeles at The Roxy on January 18.  Tour details and ticket information can be found here: http://www.ashleeandevan.com/
