North Georgia distillery scores with Atlanta United partnership
ATLANTA - When people talk about the spirit at Atlanta United games, they usually mean the overwhelming support of fans. But thanks to a groundbreaking local distillery, a whole new kind of spirit is about to help fans celebrate their favorite soccer team.
Earlier this month, Atlanta's Old 4th Distillery announced an official partnership with Atlanta United FC, resulting in the creation of a limited-edition O4D Southern Dry Gin bottle complete with red, black, and gold labeling.
The bottles are available at various Metro Atlanta retailers, and the distillery has also partnered with restaurants and bars to showcase the gin in specially-created fan cocktails.
Old 4th Distillery was created by brothers Craig and Jeff Moore, and is city's first distillery since 1906; along with the Southern Dry Gin, O4D products include a vodka and Lawn Dart, a ginger lemon liquor.
O4D is located at 487 Edgewood Avenue SE, and is open for tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to midnight. Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning there, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the distillery process and learning more about the partnership with Atlanta United.
