It's was a big morning on Good Day Atlanta, as we took a trip to Milton to learn more about an exciting new partnership between FOX 5 and a local non-profit group called Canine Assistants.

Canine Assistants is a Georgia-based non-profit which trains and places service dogs with people who have physical disabilities and other special needs.  The organization was created in 1991, and has since placed more than 1500 service dogs, which are born and raised on a farm in Milton.

FOX 5 is stepping in for "Operation Max" -- during which our team members will be helping to train and care for a Golden Retriever named Max.  Eventually, Max will be placed with someone in need of assistance.

Monday morning, Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken went to Milton to introduce our viewers to Max, and learn more about the important and unique work being done by Canine Assistants.
