Paranormal investigators hunt for spirits in The Wren's Nest

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - If you’re an Atlanta native, chances are you’ve roamed the historic halls of The Wren’s Nest, former home of famed writer Joel Chandler Harris.  But it turns out, there may be other guests that you can’t see — and this month, a group of paranormal investigators is on the hunt for the unseen visitors who could be roaming the halls right behind you!

The Wren’s Nest is hosting paranormal investigations every Saturday in February, led by members of the Southeastern Institute of Paranormal Research. Each investigation is limited to 20 guests, and will include lessons on how to use research tools and, of course, explorations of the historic property.  

There’s plenty of history to explore at The Wren’s Nest, which was built in the 19th Century and was home to Joel Chandler Harris, the famed journalist and folklorist who wrote down and published tales including those of Brer Rabbit and Uncle Remus.  Today, the home exists as a museum and storytelling hub, and is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and with group tours available during the week. 

The Paranormal Investigations with Southeastern Institute of Paranormal Research will take place Saturdays in February (the 9th, 16th, and 23rd), from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner and a drink ticket, and participants must be at least 18 years old. The Wren’s Nest is located at 1050 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard Southwest in Atlanta.
