World-famous organist makes music on Atlanta's own 'Mighty Mo'

ATLANTA - He's known as one of the world's greatest living theatre organists -- and during a recent stop in Atlanta, Richard Hills couldn't pass up a chance to sit behind Atlanta's own "Mighty Mo."

"Mighty Mo" is the name given to the 1929 Moller organ which calls Atlanta's Fox Theatre home.  The organ is original to the theatre, and is generally regarded as one of the greatest instruments of its kind in the world.  It's a massive piece of machinery; the console is wired to more than 3,500 pipes, and there are more than 350 "stop tabs" which each produce a unique sound.  In a way, "Mighty Mo" could be considered the original synthesizer.
