1 person injured in shooting at Mall of Georgia, suspect arrested
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Gwinnett County Police are investigating a shooting at the Mall of Georgia that left one person injured on Saturday night.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., an officer working security at the mall heard gunfire and ran toward the scene. Authorities quickly apprehended a suspect who was attempting to flee. The 15-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Khaden Javir Williams of DeKalb County. Williams has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He's being held without bond.
Detectives are still looking for witnesses and reviewing evidence. One individual has been taken to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for questioning.
