2 arrests made in Brookhaven hotel murder
BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Two women have been arrested in connection to a Brookhaven hotel murder earlier this month, police said Tuesday.
Shauntae Laquana Taylor, 27, of College Park, and Jessica Marie Smith, 25, of Duluth, were both charged with murder. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit took Taylor into custody in College Park Tuesday and was booked into the DeKalb County Jail. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office assisted in taking Smith into custody and booking her into the Gwinnett County Jail.
According to a warrant issued Monday, the two women were involved in the violent pistol-whipping and shooting death of 28-year-old Brookhaven resident Miguel Angel Munoz at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel located in the 1200 block of Executive Park Drive on the morning of Sept 4.
Brookhaven police said they received multiple tips from the public after releasing surveillance images of the woman at the front desk of the hotel.
