2 men injured in shooting in west Atlanta Wednesday night, police say
ATLANTA - Two men were injured in a shooting Wednesday night in southwest Atlanta, and police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
What we know:
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW around 9:12 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm. He was alert, conscious, and breathing before being taken to a hospital for treatment.
Shortly after, officers were notified that a 20-year-old man arrived at Emory University Hospital Midtown with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He was also alert and receiving medical care.
What we don't know:
Preliminary findings suggest that both men may have been involved in the same incident. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to gather more information. At this time, a possible suspect has not been identified.
