2 more teens arrested in connection with Fannin County murder
MORGANTON, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Two more teens were arrested in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old man and the shooting of a woman, bringing the total arrested in the case to four teens.
Dalton Manuel, 15, and Lakota Cloer, 16, were taken into custody Thursday. Manuel was charged with the murder of and Cloer was charged with party to the crime of murder.
Tuesday, Fannin County deputies along with agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Blake Dickey, also known as Blake Dye, and Hunter Hill, both 15, at Fannin County High School. Both were charged with murder.
Investigators have not released the details leading to the shooting but said it happened during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 4. Deputies said they were called to a home on Elrod Lane in Morganton by 35-year-old Morganton resident Anna Franklin. Franklin told dispatchers she and a man with her were shot.
That man was later identified 33-year-old Justin McKinney, who investigators said was pronounced dead at the scene.
Franklin was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
All four teens will be housed at the Elbert Shaw Regional Youth Detention Center pending a hearing. Additional charges are pending.
