DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Loved ones call for the murderer of a 20-year-old veteran to come forward after Jordan Gratton was found shot and killed and left in the street.
On the evening of Oct. 21, a DeKalb County Police report states Jordan Gratton was found lifeless on Woodland Cove, near Wesley Chapel Road and Flat Shoals parkway. Witnesses heard numerous gunshots, cars speeding off and hitting mailboxes, and saw someone jump into the victim's 2016 gray Ford Mustang and drive off.
The Mustang was found wrecked and abandoned nearby, and a witness said they saw someone jump out and run towards Flat Shoals Parkway.
Gratton had served in the National Guard and currently worked at AT&T as a technician.
Police have not disclosed a motive.
"Whoever it is, should turn themself in. I know they feel guilty. They took somebody's son, somebody's brother, somebody's boyfriend, somebody's best friend," said his girlfriend, Jasmine Wallace, in tears.
A crowd of people gathered to remember Gratton outside Peace Baptist Church off Covington Highway, including a crew of AT&T technicians. Workers called him a well-liked, respected and hard-working employee who was liked by customers.
Friends and loved ones said Gratton was fun-loving, ambitious and wanted to care for his family.
"I hate his life was cut so short. He was trying so hard to do the right thing and work for it," said best friend Savasia Gladden.
Anyone with information is asked to contact DeKalb County Police. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
