CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Three people are in the hospital after police say a teenage suspect caused a wreck during a pursuit in Clayton County.
Officials say they received a call to Clayton County Dispatch for a carjacking around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The caller said he left a running delivery van at the AutoZone on Tara Boulevard and Highway 138. When he left the store, he saw a suspect, and police said the teen pretended to have a gun, driving away with the van.
The caller got into another car, called the police, and followed his van.
Responding officers were able to corner the van, but the teen rammed the patrol car and took off again.
Police said the teen blew through a red light at Mt. Zion Boulevard and Mt. Zion Road, where he was T-boned by another car. This caused the driver to spin out and hit three pedestrians who were standing in the median.
The adult and two teens who were occupants of that car were taken to the hospital with serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the 16-year-old suspect.
They told FOX 5 News he was reported missing from a local group home.
