3 murder suspects arrested in 30 days, Cobb County police say
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The Cobb County Police Department says it has apprehended three murder suspects within a span of 30 days, according to a press release sent to FOX 5 Atlanta. The arrests were made possible in part by the use of Flock cameras, which helped identify two of the suspects' vehicles.
Arrest of Kartwell Sirmans after tense chase
Kartwell Sirmans was apprehended on Nov. 2 after a tense chase through a fast-food parking lot at Floyd Road and White Boulevard near Mableton. Sirmans, who was driving a Honda SUV, was arrested in a nearby subdivision. He is accused of a violent home invasion on Serenity Point Lane in Villa Rica last month, where he allegedly shot and killed Tavarus Joiner and wounded Joiner's wife, Sirmans' girlfriend, and a five-year-old child.

"He committed violence on several people, shooting and killing at least one person and wounding at least two others, including a child," said Officer Aaron Wilson of the Cobb County Police Department. "You don’t know what this person is capable of or if they want to inflict further harm against you as the officer."
Derrick Anderson arrested after high-speed chase
On Nov. 12, police pursued another suspect, Derrick Anderson, who was wanted for failure to appear in court in a homicide case. A high-speed chase ensued after the suspect attempted to flee, resulting in a crash and a foot pursuit. Video footage shows Anderson crashing into a car before attempting to flee on foot. Officers quickly caught and arrested him.

Pharis Brown arrested for murder
The third suspect, Pharis Brown, was tracked down on Dec. 1 near Interstate 20 in south Cobb. Brown was wanted for murder in DeKalb County and is now behind bars. "As a law enforcement officer, that’s what you sign up for is to take real bad guys to jail," Wilson stated.
Officers conducted a felony traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic and arrested the individual without incident.

Flock cameras played a crucial role in the capture of two of the suspects. "Once they see the tag, they’re like, hey, I got it, this is the car," Wilson explained. "There’s no question this is the car we’re looking for and the car Villa Rica police are looking for."
All three suspects are being held in separate jails on separate murder charges.
