Adult victims identified in Buckhead shooting near Phipps Plaza
Although Atlanta police have not charged anyone in the shooting that took place in the middle of a bustling Buckhead shopping area Easter afternoon, they have identified two of the adult victims. They believe it was a violent robbery attempt.
ATLANTA - Officials have identified multiple victims of a triple shooting that happened at an intersection across from Phipps Plaza on Easter.
Atlanta police officers were called to Oak Valley Road at Peachtree Road at 3:06 p.m. on Sunday after reports of a shooting.
At the scene, officers discovered two adult men who had been shot. They later found a 16-year-old who also had a gunshot wound.
All three were alert, conscious, and breathing and were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Monday police say they believe that the teenager was both a victim and the suspect involved in the incident.
The two adults have been identified as 25-year-old Jabari Stewart, and 21-year-old Elisha Talley. The 16-year-old has not been identified due to being a juvenile.
The Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating the incident to find out what happened. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the shooting happened during an attempted robbery.
Investigators have not released any more information about the shooting or what charges the teenager may face.
