Witness to deadly Norcross hit-and-run speaks up
A woman says she saw the victim, 66-year-old Sadie Ware, just moments before she was hit along Indian Trail Lilburn Road. Police are looking for the driver who ran her over.
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - The Gwinnett County Police Department confirmed a woman died from injuries in a hit-and-run on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. near Indian Trail Lilburn Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross, police said. The victim was identified by police as 66-year-old Sadie Ware.
Police investigators were at the scene Wednesday morning. Police say Ware lived in the area. Her family had reported her missing shortly before the accident. Distraught family members raced to the scene as news of the tragedy spread.
"We had a report earlier this morning that her son had called in saying that his mother wasn't home and she may have wandered off between three and 6 in the morning," said Gwinnett County Police Officer Hideshi Valle.

Female pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash
The crash happened near Indian Trail Lilburn Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Norcross, police said. The victim is described as a woman in her 70s.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene and saw police investigating near a shopping center and daycare center.
"I was pulling in she was walking. I parked my car, didn't think anything of it. I just saw a line of cars coming. When I looked out, she was already lying in the street," a witness who did not want their name used for this story told FOX 5.

Members of the department's accident investigation unit gathered evidence on scene. Police cannot say whether the driver realized they had struck someone.
"She was on foot and it is believed that she wandered off on the road when she was hit by the vehicle," said Valle.

The suspect vehicle is a 1997 to 2002 truck or SUV that is teal or green in color with a broken headlight.
