Acworth men busted with marijuana after being pulled over for speeding, police say
ACWORTH, Ga. - Two men were recently arrested in Acworth after they were pulled over for reckless driving and marijuana was reportedly discovered inside their vehicle.
What we know:
On Jan. 13, Officer Morrow conducted a traffic stop on Southside Drive after observing a vehicle driving recklessly at high speed on Acworth Industrial Drive.
The driver was identified as Cory Ladell Rowell, 39, of Acworth, and the passenger as Dominik Vince Rowell, 24, also of Acworth.
Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana, leading to a search of the vehicle. The search uncovered approximately 96 grams of marijuana and items consistent with the intent to distribute or sell illegal drugs.
Both individuals were arrested and charged under O.C.G.A. 16-13-30(J)(1) for the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, a felony. They were transported to the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and later released on bond.

In a statement, the Acworth Police Department said: "The Acworth Police Department is proud to have dedicated officers working for the City to remove illegal drugs from the streets and prevent crimes."
