Altercation Leads to Gunfire: 34-Year-Old Injured in Atlanta shooting

A 34-year-old man was hospitalized Friday evening after being shot during an altercation in northwest Atlanta, according to police.

It happened at 891 Rock St. NW near Joseph E. Boone Boulevard around 5:06 p.m. following a report of a shooting. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, who was described as alert, conscious, and breathing, was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between the victim and a man known to him, which escalated into gunfire.

Detectives from APD’s Domestic Violence Unit are leading the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
