Annual Eggs & Issues breakfast kicks off 2025 Georgia legislative session
ATLANTA - The Georgia World Congress Center hosted the annual Eggs & Issues breakfast, drawing hundreds of the state’s business leaders and lawmakers to toast the start of the 2025 legislative session. The event highlighted key priorities for Georgia’s economy and workforce development, with Gov. Brian Kemp emphasizing efforts to maintain the state’s reputation as the "Best State to Do Business" for nearly a decade.
Kemp outlined his administration’s legislative priorities, including measures to address workforce development and infrastructure investment. He proposed legislation to create more opportunities for Georgia students starting in ninth grade to pursue careers in high-demand fields.
Additionally, Kemp’s upcoming budget proposal includes:
- $530 million for freight and logistics transportation infrastructure improvements.
- $250 million for the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority Fund to support water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure projects.
"By working together, we have accomplished great things in this great state," said Kemp. "With this new session upon us, I’m confident that by continuing this approach, we can keep Georgia the best place to live, work, and raise a family for years to come."
Kemp also highlighted tort reform as a top priority for the 2025 legislative session, signaling a focus on maintaining Georgia’s competitive edge in attracting businesses.
