Arrest made in deadly Spalding County hit and run

GRIFFIN, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The Georgia State Patrol said they have made an arrest in a hit and run that left a Spalding County father dead.

It happened back in February along Old Atlanta Road. Trooper said Shaun Wright was sitting on his bicycle near the edge when a minivan hit him. Surveillance photos show the minivan that hit Wright.

Investigators recovered pieces of the headlight, front end, and paint fragments from the van.

Troopers this week said they arrested 34-year-old Marcus Allen in connection to the deadly accident.

No word on his next court appearance or if anyone will be claiming the $5,000 reward being offered in the case.
