DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police said they have made an arrest in the murder of a 24-year-old woman whose body was found along a popular DeKalb County trail on New Year’s Eve.
Malik Nunnally, 25, has been charged in the death of Maya Mitchell, police said Tuesday. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail on unrelated charges of failure to appear on assault and weapon possession charges.
Police said they have been looking for Nunnally since Jan. 15 when an arrest warrant was filed for the crime.

A jogger discovered Maya Mitchell's body on Dec. 31, 2018, in Glen Emerald Park on Bouldercrest Road.
Investigators said she was shot and that her body had only been at the park for a short time before it was discovered.
