Atlanta Airport executive out; food bids still on hold
ATLANTA - The FOX 5 I-Team has an update on an investigation which shocked Atlanta City Hall.
Last fall, FOX 5 I-Team Senior Investigative Reporter Dale Russell reported the wife of the assistant general manager of the airport, Cortez Carter, was in business with an Atlanta airport vendor in another state.
Then-Mayor Kasim Reed called for an immediate investigation.
Now, the mayor's spokesperson confirms that Carter is no longer working for the city, but she would not specify why.
The vendor was Hojiej Branded Foods, which was slated to win as much as $40 million in recent airport bids.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has put those bids on hold.
