1 dead, 1 injured in Glenrose Heights Shooting
Police say a man and his girlfriend went to confront someone in the Glenrose Heights neighborhood of Atlanta on Sunday. Now one of them is dead and another is in the hospital.
ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating a deadly shooting in the Glenrose Heights neighborhood.
On Sunday, police were called to the scene of a person shot near 56 Baker Drive SW.
When they arrived at 3:33 p.m., they found two victims: a man and a woman.
Police told FOX 5 the suspected shooter and his girlfriend came to the house to confront a man who allegedly got into a fight with the suspected shooter's mother earlier that day.
The suspected shooter's girlfriend was pronounced dead at the scene. The man they came to see was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Commander Andrew Smith clarified that the homeowner was not involved.
While no one is in custody yet, Smith said police had plans to question the suspected shooter.
"That person is on their way to headquarters to give us a statement," Smith said.
After meeting with investigators, the victim's mother was overcome with grief. Police called in paramedics to tend to her.
The Homicide Unit is continuing this investigation. Neither the victims nor any suspects have been identified yet.
