ATLANTA - Here's the latest roundup of restaurant news from around metro Atlanta, including information on special offers for Valentine's Day.

EVENTS

Phipps Plaza's Winter Chalet on The GREEN dining and entertainment experience curated by Citizens Market Food Hall is happening every Thursday through Sunday through Feb. 25. Guests can enjoy cozy, heated igloos with food, beverages and live music on special dates (Lunar New Year, Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day). Igloos can accommodate up to 6 people. A 90-minute stay can reserved for $50. Seatings at 5 and 7 p.m. on Valentine's Day. The Chalet on The GREEN experience pairs rentals with a food and beverage package. $100 per person required. Includes choice of wine or large format cocktail, a cheese and charcuterie board, a Just Krispy Rice Box and Umami beef sliders. Additional food and beverages can be purchased from Citizens Market. Children's options are available. 

Eventide Brewing is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Feb. 10. The event promises a day filled with nostalgia, entertainment and plenty of great craft beer, where guests can "hop" into a world of whimsy and joy. Key features include an interactive photo wall where guests can claim a free beer if they spot themselves, making it a "picture-perfect pint" moment, along with an exciting raffle. The raffle's grand prize is a coveted weekday evening reservation in Eventide’s Biergarten event space, valued at $700, truly a "dream come true" for any beer enthusiast. The event is all ages until 6 p.m. when it’s 21 and up. 

The newly-opened Trilith Guesthouse in Fayetteville is hosting "Coffee Connoisseur" on Feb. 11. The flavorful, informative two-hour event will feature master coffee roaster Ulli Winckler from Rebel Coffee in Cape Coral, Florida. During this simmering session, Winckler will reveal the secret history of coffee, discuss the different varieties and roasting methods, and, of course, provide guests with a tasting flight that includes rare and exotic coffees. The entertaining class includes a live coffee roasting demonstration, unlimited coffee, freshly baked assorted pastries, and a personalized certificate of completion. Tickets are just $40 per person. 

Scofflaw Brewing is hosting its 7th annual %#$@ Cancer Event on Feb. 17. The event will feature Scofflaw’s %#$@ Cancer beer, an IPA that honors late partner Scott Selig’s charismatic, tenacious spirit with a bold expression of cryopop hops. Proceeds from this beer support the leukemia & lymphoma society. Scofflaw’s latest release, Juice Quest, will also be available at the event for all to try.  

The Southern Gentleman is hosting an exclusive bourbon dinner in collaboration with Kentucky distillery Maker's Mark from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21. The evening begins with a welcome reception featuring passed hors d'oeuvres and a specialty welcome cocktail. Following the reception, guests will be seated for a three-course dinner by executive chef Banks White, paired with selections from the renowned Maker's Mark Distillery. Throughout the evening, knowledgeable representatives will guide guests through each course and bourbon pairing. Cost is $120. Each guest will receive a gift bag and raffle tickets will be available. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit Giving Kitchen. 

Atlanta's Original Oysterfest is happening Feb. 24-25 at Steamhouse Lounge. There will be heaping buckets of roasted oysters, chargrilled oysters on the half-shell topped with garlic and butter, Steamhouse's legendary lobster bisque, fried oyster po'boys, ice-cold beer, cocktails, live music, cold brews, and more. Weekend tickets to the 36th annual Steamhouse Lounge Oysterfest are on sale now for $25, plus fees, and include two days of grooving to live music, enjoying fresh seafood from the Louisiana Gulf Coast and letting the good times roll. For revelers who can't make it on Saturday, single-day tickets are available for Sunday at $15, plus fees. Advance tickets allow for express entry lanes and are available at www.steamhouselounge.com. The event is for ages 21 and up. Festival goers under 21 are permitted when accompanied by an adult 25 or older. Oysterfest is cashless; all transactions at the gates, bars, and restaurants will only accept credit or debit cards. 

Summerhill's Little Bear restaurant is celebrating its 4th anniversary. They are offering $4 caviar bumps and special cocktails  created and served by The Dampfwerk’s Creative Director Bridget Loeffelholz at a celebration on Feb. 24. 

The 2nd annual Westside Food, Booze & Brews Fest is happening 2 to 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Chattahoochee Food Works. Tickets start at $35. 

The Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival is taking place 2 to 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Atlantic Station. There will be BBQ, biscuits, bluegrass music, and other Southern staples. Tickets include a souvenir glass and, most importantly, all-you-can-taste samples. Tickets start at $45. 

Epicurean Theatre inside Epicurea Atlanta is hosting "Yes Chef! Mastering the Art of Cooking an Italian Supper" later in the month on Feb. 28. This swoon-worthy three-course supper and wine event will feature Chef Pat Pascarella of the MICHELIN-recommended The White Bull and Kelly Cornett of A Cork in the Road. Tickets are $75 per person.

NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY

Superica is celebrating National Margarita Day from Feb. 22 through 25. Each year, the talented mixologists engage in a friendly margarita competition to create special drinks for the holiday. This year's winners are the Bandit Queen made with Corazon blanco, triple sec, lime juice, arbol chile simple syrup, guava puree, garnished with salted rim + lime wedge; Naranja de Chocolate made with Corazon reposado, Giffords crème de cocoa, citrus mocha mix, garnished with an orange peel cradle + chocolate covered espresso bean; and the Barrel Racer (Pickle Margarita) made with Corazon reposado, pickle juice, lime juice, agave nectar, dill pickle chip garnish. They will be available at all Superica locations. 

Bulla Gastrobar on 11th Street is celebrating National Margarita Day on Feb. 22. They will be serving margaritas all days for just $7.50. 

Chattahoochee Food Works is celebrating National Margarita Day at its two lively bars. There will also be margarita specials at Taqueria La Liz and a live DJ. 

Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails inside the Kimpton Shane Hotel in Midtown Atlanta is celebrating National Margarita Day on Feb. 22 with a special flight featuring refreshing flavors like pomegranate elderflower, kiwi cucumber, strawberry passionfruit and chili pineapple, alongside a trio of chips and dips – queso blanco, guacamole, and seven-layer taco dip. 

AltaToro on Peachtree Place is putting a twist on traditional margaritas for National Margarita Day. The avocado margarita, a blend of Herradura Blanco tequila, Curaçao, fresh avocado, jalapeno-infused agave, and lime, delivers a creamy twist on the classic drink. Its seasonal frozen margarita, crafted in-house, is blended with a variety of fresh, hand-picked fruits that change seasonally, ensuring a unique experience with every visit. 

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar (multiple locations) is going all out, offering all flavors of its house margarita for a mere $2.22 all day. It's a chance to sample a variety of flavors at an unbeatable price. 

Chido & Padre's on East Andrews Drive joins the celebration with its $8 Teremana margaritas and is spicing up the event with a special taco menu. Taco varieties include duck birria, Baja cauliflower and coastal shrimp. Adding to the fun, a DJ will set the mood starting at 6:30 p.m., ensuring a lively backdrop for guests as they enjoy the festivities. 

The Interlock ATL on Howell Mill Road is celebrating National Margarita Day on Feb. 22. Head to the Holiday Bar and Pour Taproom for delicious margarita specials. Or, Guac Y Margs will offer 1800 and Avion margaritas for just $8. And, the Drawbar at Bellyard Hotel will offer the Guava Lava Margarita, which is infused with a variety of tropical fruits. 

Rreal Tacos’ innovative menu of margaritas is a highlight among aficionados. The spicy pineapple margarita mixing spicy infused tequila, triple sec, fresh pineapple, coconut cream, agave, and lime, and the Mezcalita with Mezcal Joven, triple sec, agave, and lime are worth a try. The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill on Roswell Road NE is adding a coastal twist to Margarita Day celebrations. The eatery is offering $8 Teremana margaritas along with unique seafood specials. Patrons can create perfect pairings while indulging in $12 grilled oysters (half a dozen) and $3 tequila lime oyster shooters. 

Tin Lizzy's is set to mark National Margarita Day by offering $5 TLC margaritas and $8 Teremana margaritas. Additionally, guests can savor the newly launched spicy mango margarita, making its debut just the day before that mixes Tanteo Jalapeño tequila, agave puree, and fresh citrus with a Tajin rim and a lime wheel for $11. SPECIALS FOR LENT

Culver's (multiple locations) is offering the Northwoods Walleye Sandwich or Dinner for a limited time only. Available through March 31 or while supplies last. Culver's also offers a North Atlantic Cod Sandwich or Dinner, and a butterfly jumbo shrimp value basket or dinner. 

LEAP DAY

STK Atlanta is celebrating Leap Day by offering a $29 6 oz. filet. Pair it with any of the modern steakhouse's decadent sides including confit mushrooms, truffle fries, or the baby gem Caesar. Kick off the meal with Jalepeno Pickled Shrimp Cocktail and Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes before digging into your filet and put a cherry on the indulgent experience with tasty chocolate cake or apple pie. The French cafe la Madeleine is offering a sweet way to celebrate an extra day this year. They are offering a BOGO deal on their Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chunk cookies. The all-day offer can be redeemed by ordering in-store only.

NEW RESTAURANTS

Ela, a new Pan-Mediterranean restaurant by Fifth Group Restaurants, is now open in the former El Taco space in the Virginia Highland neighborhood. An eclectic concept embracing Greek, Moroccan, Israeli, and Turkish flavors, Ela celebrates each culture’s rich culinary history, woven together through their common uses of big and bold spices, open flame technique, complex flavors, and shared regional ingredients that thrive in arid coastal climates. The kitchen will offer traditional entrees, Greek desserts, and Mediterranean-centric wine and spirits. 

Mallo Sweet Bar at Chattahoochee Food Works is hosting a fun-filled Hawaii-themed opening weekend Feb. 23 through 25 with giveaways and free samples, the first 7-course Dessert Dinner of the year with treats like roasted pineapple soup with macadamia cream and earl grey guava bars, a Wahine’s (Ladies) Night Out event with a Hula lesson & haku (flower crown), a little taste of their sister brand, Jan Marie’s Hawaii Street Food and more. The marshmallow-centric sweet shop is driven by a sense of purpose around fresh, local, real food, and particularly desserts. 

Fluffy Fluffy, a dessert cafe known for its award-winning souffle pancakes, has opened its first Georgia location in Duluth and will be opening a 2nd and 3rd location in Buford and Tucker. Originating in Canada, the brand offers handcrafted Japanese-style souffle pancakes known for their soft, bouncy, and incredibly light texture. Fluffy Fluffy also offers croffles, burnt top cheesecake, roll cake, macarons, lattes, and specialty sodas. 

Two new metro Atlanta CraveWell Cafe locations are opening Feb. 5. The fast-growing juice bar restaurants, located in the Westside Village shopping center at 2260 Marietta Boulevard, Suite 105 in West Midtown and at 6125 Roswell Road, Suite 1050 in Sandy Springs, will welcome customers with free smoothies and kids-eat-free celebrations. On Feb. 5, guests at each location can enjoy free smoothie samples from the crave-worthy CraveWell menu (including favorites like Banana Bliss and Lean Green) and the opportunity to register to win free smoothies for a year. On Sat. Feb. 10 and Sun. Feb. 11, kids will eat free at each location from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (featuring favorites from the kid’s menu, including the candy apple wrap, peanut butter wrap and grilled cheese sandwich) plus complimentary fresh pressed juice tastings (including the Antioxidant, Citrus Spice and Green Extreme), free smoothie tastings and balloons for kids. Throughout CraveWell’s first month of business, $1 from every smoothie sold will be donated to ACFB plus customers can enjoy $2 off all juices, smoothies, sandwiches and salads for every canned good item they donate in February. 

Battle & Brew is now open at The Battery Atlanta. The new location features more than 70 screens for immersive gaming experiences and private party spaces for exclusive gatherings. There's also a dedicated PC battle arena, a premium VIP gamer lounge, expanded culinary options and high-speed fiber internet for top-tier low latency gaming. 

CAVA has opened a new restaurant in the Summerhill Station at 572 Hank Aaron Drive SE. With Mediterranean-inspired bowls, pitas, dips, and dressings, the fast-casual restaurant chain serves delicious food that helps people eat well and live well. The restaurant employs 30 to 35 local people. 

Politan Row at Ashford Lane, a new food hall, is now open in Dunwoody. The 17,000-square-foot food hall is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner with regular activations and events launching this spring. The food hall boasts 10 food vendors (including a full-service restaurant in the back of the food hall), Okay Anny’s cocktail lounge, Bar Politan and private event spaces. 

Dunkin' and Jimmy John's recently opened a new multi-brand location on Georgia Tech's campus. Students can now experience the excitement of running on Dunkin’, with the location boasting an innovative tap system that delivers eight consistently cold beverages, including coffees, iced teas, cold brew coffee and nitro-infused cold brew coffee. In addition to this, guests can also enjoy the experience of Jimmy John’s menu, featuring Freaky Fast, Freaky Fresh® Sandwiches. The new 1,200-square-foot multi-brand location seats 25 guests inside, with additional outdoor seating available. The store features a modern design and energy-efficient technologies. 

Tin Pin Game Bar is now open next to Tin Lizzy's Cantina's on Roswell Road in Marietta. This gaming destination is connected to Tin Lizzy’s dining room and will feature 10 pinball machines and a collection of arcade games alongside the restaurant’s full menu of tacos, quesadillas, margaritas, and specialty cocktails. Seasoned gamers will find joy in nostalgic arcade classics like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and Donkey Kong, and pinball wizards will flip for the selection of high-tech Stern pinball machines featuring modern properties like the Mandalorian, Deadpool, Godzilla, and the recently released Venom pinball game. During the day, the bar is open to all ages, but in the evening, it is limited to ages 21 and up. 

 Zaxby's has opened a new location at 5280 Matt Highway in Cumming. The new Zaxby's opened for both drive-thru and dine-in on Jan. 29. Most recently, Zaxby’s brought back its fan-favorite Asian Zensation Zalad and Egg Rolls for a limited time. The salad features a mix of fresh greens with your choice of Chicken Fingerz or grilled chicken, topped with Asian slaw, crispy wonton strips, and a honey sesame Teriyaki glaze. Customers can also enjoy two Egg Rolls as a stand-alone side for just $3.

NEW MENU ITEMS/SPECIALS

Krystal Restaurants are offering three seafood specials through April 28 at its restaurants. The Krabbycake Slider features a bite-sized, lightly-breaded Krabbycake topped with a creamy dill tartar sauce and a crunchy dill pickle, all served on Krystal's signature square bun. Plus, Krystal is brining back the beloved Shrimp Po'Bpy and Shrimp Basket. Customers can also pair the Shrimp Po'By and Krabbycake Slider in the Seafood Lovers Combo. 

Dunkin' has announced a new energizing, fruit-flavored iced beverage named Sparkd' Energy. Additionally, Dunkin’ has announced its new spring menu that includes never-before-seen menu items, from cinnamon-forward sips and Churro Donuts to Dunkin’s first-ever Breakfast Empanada and Banana Chocolate Chip Bread. 

Tin Lizzy's Cantina (multiple locations) is offering short rib birria, a mouthwatering ensemble featuring flour tortillas, blended queso Monterey, slow-roasted short ribs, and a rich beef birria consommé for dipping for only $11.95, for a limited time only. The spicy mango margarita, which mixes Tanteo Jalapeño tequila, agave puree, and fresh citrus garnished with a Tajin rim and a lime wheel, for $11 is the perfect sidekick. 

Varuni Napoli Midtown is celebrating National Pizza Day with a special pie featuring all of their customer favorites in one! This delicious pizza has four sections, each with the same toppings as their most popular pies, including the Margherita, Bastardo, Oro Bianco, and Spacca Napoli. Launching on National Pizza Day, Friday, Feb. 9, this pie will be available only at Varuni Napoli’s Midtown location through Sunday, Feb. 18.

North Italia restaurant (multiple locations) is offering a special for Super Bowl from now until Feb. 11. The Calabrian Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Kale and Artichoke Pizza are priced at only $20 each and pair wonderfully with North Italia’s robust beverage program featuring hand-crafted cocktails, a variety of wine, and of course, local brews! Hand-tossed with fresh ingredients such as house giardiniera, gorgonzola, fontina, and smoked mozzarella, the Calabrian Buffalo Chicken Pizza brings all the bold flavors needed for a touchdown. The Spinach, Kale and Artichoke Pizza is handmade with fried shallots, smoked mozzarella, and zesty lemon which brings a lighter, vegetarian option to the game and pairs perfectly with shareable appetizers such as the Zucca Chips, Prosciutto Bruschetta, and Burrata Di Stagione. Guests can enjoy each pizza in-restaurant or at home through DoorDash (with 20% off when one of the pizzas is added to a delivery order of $40+ or more). 

Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe is bringing back one of its famed dishes – Grilled Fish with Homemade Caper-Dill Sauce – offered as a sandwich starting at $10.99 and as a feast starting at $12.49. Both dishes are available through April 21. The cafe is also introducing a new White Chocolate Lemon Cookie for fans looking to satisfy their sweet tooth after a light, fresh meal. 

Blaze Pizza restaurants across the country are now offering Fast Fire'd Meatballs. The hot-and-savory meatballs are accompanied by a house-made red sauce, creamy Ricotta and tangy banana peppers. 

Taco Mac (multiple locations) is leaping into February featuring Wild Leap Craft Beverages as its Beer of the Month. Hailing from LaGrange, Wild Leap presents a selection of its finest beers including Local Gold, Georgia’s number one blonde ale; Island Haze India pale ale; Alpha Abstraction Vol. 26 double IPA; and Blueberry LMN ADE sour ale. Thursday Pint Nights start at 5 p.m. with various giveaways throughout the month. Tropical Smoothie (multiple locations) has rolled out a new flavor-packed line of Tropic Bowls with the help of SNL's Chloe Fineman, who now serves as the brand's Tropic Time Concierge. Bowls include the Acia Bowl, Chia Oatmeal Pudding, Green Dream Yogurt, and Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt. 

Krispy Krunchy Chicken (multiple locations) has an all-new Cajun Chicken Sandwich, which features an all-white meat breast fillet marinated in Krispy Krunchy's® mild Cajun spices, coated in its famous breading, topped with signature honey sauce, two pickles, and all served on a warm brioche bun. Enjoy this hand-held masterpiece at the recommended price of $4.99 in most locations (check your local store as pricing may vary). BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Marcus Bar & Grille in the Old Fourth Ward is celebrating Black History Month with a selection of specials throughout the month. The food special Feb. 1-17 is Patti B's Fried Cajun Catfish with Dirty Rice. The beverage special is Black History Lager by Montclair Brewery. The food special Feb. 18-29 is black-eyed peas, jambalaya, shrimp, okra and chorizo. The beverage special is a King cocktail made with cognac, triple sec, orange juice, lemon and sugar cane. Other cocktail specials include the Purple Reign made with gin, blueberry tea, ginger syrup and simple syrup and Dance With Somebody, which is made with tequila, Passion Liqueur, pineapple, vanilla syrup, and lime juice. Plus, Marcus is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a special menu. 

A Taste of Black Gwinnett -- Black History Month 2024 is taking place 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center. The event will feature diverse food, businesses, products and services from across Gwinnett County. 

SUPER BOWL SPECIALS

Newk's Eatery is offering 2 pizza and 1 salad for $20 at participating locations through Feb. 11 in honor of National Pizza Day and for Super Bowl fans. Pizza offerings: Pepperoni, Sausage & Pepperoni, Margherita, Newk's "Q" or BBQ Chicken. Salad offerings: Caesar, Greek or Garden.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Alto Toro in Midtown Atlanta is offering a Latin four-course prix-fixe dinner using the freshest locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. Pricing is set at $100 per person, which includes one glass of Champagne per person, or $120 per person for a couple, including a bottle of Champagne.

The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill is the soul of the Southern Coast in the heart of Buckhead. In addition to its classic menu on Valentine’s Day, the eatery will offer chef features of pecan-crusted rainbow trout ($30), sesame-glazed salmon ($28) and red velvet cake ($8). 

The Blind Pig Parlour Bar sheds its Victorian-era decor to captivate both hopeless romantics and the lovelorn with its Blind Cupid pop-up through March 9. The Blind Cupid offers guests the perfect haven to escape the winter chill, whether for a unique date night, a lively girls’ night out or Galentine’s Day celebration. 

Chick-fil-A is offering heart-shaped trays for Valentine's Day. The trays feature Chick-fil-A nuggets, Chick-n-Minis, chocolate fudge browning halves, and chocolate chunk cookies. 

Casa Nuova Italian Restaurant in Alpharetta is celebrating Valentine's Day with a 5-course dinner. Menu highlights include escargot, seafood stuffed mushrooms, salad, spaghetti, tortellini, Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, lasagna, Veal Francese, Veal Parmigiana, salmon stuffed with crabmeat, lobster ravioli, Crema Caramella, Italian cheesecake, tiramisu, and chocolate cake. Cost is $75 per person. 

Bojangles is offering Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits in honor of Valentine's Day. Offered individually or in a two- or six-pack, each Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuit® is made from scratch by a Bojangles certified biscuit maker. With Bo-Berries baked inside and a decadent vanilla icing drizzle, the delightfully sweet biscuit pairs well with a delicious cup of Bojangles coffee. The French cafe, la Madeleine, is offering several items in celebration of Valentine's Day, including heart-shaped cheesecakes (chocolate ganache or raspberry); heart-shaped Linzer (shortbread) cookies; Strawberries Romanoff Individual Cheesecake; and chocolate-covered strawberries. At Aria in Buckhead, guests can choose between classic dishes from the a la carte menu or opt for the nightly tasting menu while celebrating love in a sophisticated setting.

Star Provisions Market + Cafe has created an evening at home offering. The menu is $304.92 (tax included) and features dinner for two – beginning with gulf crab fritter, followed by tenderloin of beef wellington or salmon en croute, with Yukon Gold potato puree and haricot verte with black truffle vinaigrette. Then enjoy a cheese course with Boxcarr Cottonbell Heart, pink salad of winter radicchios and endive, toasted hazelnuts, hazelnut vinaigrette and demo pain d’epi, plus a sweet ending of chocolate French silk tart for two and window-pane heart shortbread cookies.
