A quick stop to retrieve more campaign signs turned dangerous for Atlanta City Council candidate Andrea Boone.  An armed robber met the District 10 hopeful outside the door of her campaign office on Lynhurst Drive in southwest Atlanta.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday.  Boone and Atlanta City Council Member C.T. Martin said they had just left an event at the Adams Recreation Center.  Martin, she said, tried to warn her to stay inside the building. It was too late.

"I was greeted by a young man with a hoodie on. He put a gun to my face.  Asked for cash, asked for the car, told me to lay on the ground," Boone relayed.

The armed thief ran off and had already used a credit card nearly a dozen times within an hour of the crime. The ordeal left Boone rattled:

"This is the heart of district 10. And we must, we must be very careful. This is definitely an eye-opener for me."
