Atlanta City Council, Habitat help single mother
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Members of the Atlanta City Council joined forces with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity to help make this Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday special for one Atlanta family.
Santecia Bynum is building her first home along with her 9-year-old daughter. She had previously lived on Atlanta’s Westside and was excited to be able to have the help she needed to move to the Ashview Heights neighborhood as a homeowner.
Bynum says she has been working hard to get a place of her own. She works at an area university in the custodial department but has also completed her certification in Microsoft Office from Atlanta Technical College.
The Habitat project was in her wheelhouse as she says she enjoys DIY projects and knows those skills will come in very handy in her new home.
