Atlanta City Councilman to hold hearing on airport incident
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The chairman of the Atlanta City Council transportation panel will conduct a hearing into the incident that injured a little boy at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International.
The toddler walked away from his mother and spotted the rolling baggage conveyor belt. He got on and disappeared behind and apron and rode down to the basement.
Andre Dickens visited the airport Thursday afternoon to get a firsthand look at the Spirit Airlines counter -- which is where the boy entered the non-public space -- as well as the other airline stations.

Dickens spotted several weaknesses that he believes can be shored up.
He will request the airport general manager and representatives from airlines attend his transportation committee.
The boy received some cuts to a hand and arm before baggage workers spotted him and took him off the ramp.
