Atlanta fire chief opens investigation on firefighters relationship
ATLANTA - The Atlanta fire chief has opened an investigation into a report that two of his firefighters were discovered having sex inside the Jonesboro station.
And sources tell us one of the two is a ranking fire official.
Fire command declined an interview request. A spokesperson released a statement confirming the investigation is underway.
A city councilman, Kwanza Hall, called the allegations shocking. He says the inappropriate behavior should not reflect on the hundreds of firefighters who show up not to play, but to serve the citizens of Atlanta.
It is not clear what the next step will be for the two firefighters. They could be sent home pending the outcome of the investigation. Each will be given an opportunity to explain what they were doing.
