Atlanta mayor helps break ground on Herndon Square

ATLANTA - Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Atlanta housing officials broke ground Tuesday for phase one of Herndon Square.

Herndon Square will sit on Cameron Madison Alexander Boulevard in northwest Atlanta.

Phase one will include 97 affordable units for seniors.

Mayor Bottoms said the location is about creating endless opportunities for families in the future.

City officials expect construction of the midrise building to be completed next year.
