ATLANTA - One man is in custody and another remains on the run after a series of SWAT searches at two SW Atlanta homes on Tuesday.
Officials say the situation began around 3:45 p.m. when units assigned to the Atlanta Police Department's Atlanta Proactive Enforcement and Interdiction unit traveled to a home on the 1100 block of Osborne Street to search for Jermaine Sutton.
According to officials, Sutton, who was wanted for aggravated assault, was with a group of men at the home, but the men all fled when they noticed the officers.
During the chase, police say they noticed another man, identified as Tyrelle Blake, breaking into a nearby home on the 100 block of Birch Street.
SWAT teams responded to both homes. At the Birch Street locations, officers found Blake hidden in the attic and arrested him. Blake is currently in the Fulton County Jail charged with criminal trespass, obstruction and providing a false name to police.
Officers searching the Osborne Street home say they weren't able to find Sutton but did discover multiple firearms and illegal narcotics. Sutton remains on the run at this time.
