Atlanta piano teacher celebrates 103rd birthday
ATLANTA - An Atlanta woman is celebrating a major milestone on Monday, her 103rd birthday!
Rosemary Bauer was born on Sept. 17, 1915 in Providence, Rhode Island before moving to New Jersey as a teenager.
Bauer discovered her love of music at an early age and started taking piano lessons at the age of 4. In New Jersey, she started teaching piano to help support her family.
That love of the piano continued throughout her life. She attended the Philadelphia Music Academy, started teaching professionally, and even taught her husband how to play!
Rosemary and her husband had two children. He passed away after 20 happy years of marriage.
In 1987, Bauer moved down south to Decatur, Georgia. She now lives at the A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab Wesley Woods nursing home in Atlanta.
Bauer will celebrate with friends and family on Monday. She has four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
From all of us here at FOX 5, happy birthday Mrs. Bauer!
