More than two dozen police officers knocked on doors and stopped neighbors in the streets Tuesday evening to try to find new leads in two unsolved murders.

Bridget Shiel, 19, was found undressed and shot to death in Oakland City Park on May 31. A few days later, Conan Blue died after someone opened fire on him in nearby Adair Park.

Detectives have exhausted their leads in both cases and decided to go back into the area to drum up new information.

“We're just looking for anything to further these investigations," explained Lt. Charles Hampton with the homicide unit. “It's important that we come back out to the community and show that we're not [going to] let these cases just go cold.”

Officers handed out flyers that contained information about both cases as well as the victims' pictures. They hope someone will have heard something over the last few months that could help.

“It may not give us the key to solving and break it wide open, but it's something more than what we didn't have,” said Hampton.

Police ask anyone with information on Shiel's murder to call Detective A. Lowe at 404-354-0858 or 404-546-4737. Information about Blue's case should be reported to Detective H. Griffin at 404-546-4235 or 404-273-6406.

Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
