Atlanta Police: Man shot outside The Varsity
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta police are investigating a shooting near an Atlanta landmark early Tuesday morning.

It happened just before 6 a.m. in the parking lot of The Varsity on Spring Street.
Investigators said a man was found on the ground outside The Varsity, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center in serious condition.
Police haven't released any details about a suspected shooter or a possible motive, but witnesses saw a dark SUV leave the scene.
According to police, the shooting happened after some type of argument broke out between two men.
Several shell casings were found in the parking lot, police said.
Following the shooting, The Varsity released a statement:
"Early this morning, a shooting took place in the parking lot of The Varsity on North Ave. while our restaurant was closed. Thankfully, no Varsity employees or customers were on-site and we are cooperating with the Atlanta Police Department to help in any way possible."
