Atlanta Police release sketch of suspect in East Atlanta robbery and shooting

Atlanta Police released a sketch of a suspect Monday wanted for his role in the shooting of a man who came to the aid of a female friend during a robbery in East Atlanta.

Police investigators want the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the September 18 robbery and shooting on Glenwood Avenue N.E.

According to police, the female victim was getting into her car just after midnight when several men robbed her. 

When she yelled for help, a male friend came to her aid and was shot as he approached the group.

Paramedics took the man to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The robbers were able to take the woman’s purse and phone and fled the scene in a black sedan, possibly a Honda. Police also released photographs of the suspects’ vehicle on Monday.

Atlanta Police ask anyone who may recognize the suspect or has any information on the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers.

People do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
