A brand new hotel and conference center is coming to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

City officials announced the plans at a news conference at the airport Tuesday afternoon.

Building officials said the four-star hotel will have 440 guest rooms and several conference rooms.

It will also have about 50,000 square feet of office space.

Mayor Kasim Reed was on-hand Tuesday and offered his positive commentary.

"This $350 million project is a milestone for Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. It will be an incredible convenience and time-saver for travelers who want to stay here and grab a comfortable night's sleep without leaving our campus," said Mayor Reed.

Officials said the hotel will be built directly west of the domestic terminal and will have direct access to that terminal through a plaza.

The construction company estimates the project will take about 3 years to complete.
