R&B Supergroup 112 is back after an 11-year album hiatus with new music. Band members Quinnes "Q" Parker, Marvin "Slim" Scandrick, Daron Jones and Michael Keith are excited for the venture as well as debuting the release of "Q Mike Slim Daron" in their hometown of Atlanta.

"I'm just really excited and glad that Atlanta has embraced us much as it has. It feels really good to be in Atlanta. It's good to be home," Michael said.

The group is hosting a week full of community events as part of its "112 Takeover" ahead of the album's release. FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell sat down with the quartet during a meet-and-greet session Tuesday at SunTrust Park.

"This album right here is probably the most well-versed album," Slim told Mitchell. "It shows each individual's strong suit. We really wanted people to understand how we assembled and why we assembled 112."

Known for hits "Only You," "Anywhere" and the mega-smash, "Peaches & Cream," the group plans to merge its legendary blend of R&B and hip-hop with today's music scene.

"I think R&B is in a good place. This is where I live. It was in a good place in the '90s. It's in a good place now," Daron added. "We are going to bring some of the '90s vibes back that some people are missing."

The "112 Takeover" started Monday with the group's return to their alma mater, South Atlanta High School. The school honored the performers with its Phoenix Award. Band members also provided scholarships to two graduating seniors. The "112 Music Scholarship" will provide tuition assistance to students interested in music careers.

"You always want to get love from your home and being in your own backyard. "It really is a 112 Takeover," Q told Mitchell. "We are just walking in our purpose.  We are just showing up and allowing things to happen because it is already written. We just have to do our part by showing up every day and doing what we do."

112 will host a free community fair and concert this Saturday in Atlanta.
