Authorities intensify search for missing Georgia man believed to be in South Carolina

Authorities are searching for a Georgia man reported missing earlier this month and believed to be possibly traveling in South Carolina.

Michael Dean Campbell was reported missing on Dec. 17, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Campbell was last known to have been discharged from The Potter’s House, a rehabilitation facility located off U.S. 129 in Jefferson, on Dec. 2. An anonymous complainant believes Campbell may be moving between different hotels in South Carolina.

No clothing descriptions or details about any vehicles he might be using are available. The most recent photograph of Campbell, dated Aug. 15, has been released by authorities to aid in their search.

Campbell is known to struggle with drug-related issues and has an active probation warrant issued by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
