ATLANTA - An old strategy used by criminals was deployed again with a 76-year-old Atlanta man becoming a victim.
Predators watch seniors at the first of the month, knowing they may go cash a benefit check. Last Saturday, at a Bank of America branch in the west end, Atlanta investigators said a man pretended to be a customer just long enough to watch the senior withdraw funds at the counter.
A few minutes later, the thief followed the elderly man to the parking lot, knocked him down and took cash from his hands. Police released a picture from the bank surveillance.
