Bartow County students reports rape

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - Police in Bartow County are investigating a girl's claim that she was raped by a classmate near Woodland High School. The assault allegedly happened Thursday during school hours.

The girl told investigators that she skipped class and met another student in the woods where she claimed he talked her into having sex, something she said she didn't want to do.

The school superintendent released a statement Friday expressing that the safety of students is a top priority and the district is investigating the claim.
