Bed fire leads to roof collapse in Gwinnett County

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A mattress engulfed in flames led to a partial roof collapse in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett Fire crews responded to the house fire in the 1700 block of Hearthstone Circle Saturday night at around 8.

By the time they got to the home, the fire had already gotten through the roof of the one-story home.

After a battle with the blaze, the fire was put out, but not before part of the home's roof collapsed and the house sustained fire damage.

Thankfully, everyone made it out of the home OK.

Fire officials say two teenagers were in the bedroom inside a converted garage when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
