Black Friday deals when to pass on it when to grab it

ATLANTA - And the countdown is on to Black Friday.

The big Black Friday deals and doorbusters are for many products but not for all of them.  So what's worth your hard earned cash and when should you pass?

Let's start with the big Black Friday draw: electronics. TVs, smartphones and tablets cost a lot of money, so this is where you need a price break and yes, Black Friday is when to snap them up.

I could spend all day standing here telling you about deal offers. There are that many. Get online and search spots where you would reasonably shop sales aggregators like Deal News headquartered in Alabama.

Now, just because a website says it's a deal, it doesn't mean it is.  You need to price compare by searching that same item on multiple sites to see who really has the best deal.

But here is a guideline for what you can expect out there Friday. Wallethub says the best savings come with video game software. On Black Friday you can get up to 31 percent savings. Appliances average an 18 percent price cut. And furniture should be marked down 15 percent.

Now here are a few things you might see on "sale" but you might want to wait. Don't buy yet because better sales can be down the road.

Christmas decorations. Sure there are some deals, but as we get nearer to Christmas the price keeps heading south. Toys. Same thing. Bigger deals are still ahead of us. And finally bedding. Here's a tradition that holds true to form - the best price cuts are in January during those annual "white sales."
