Woman gunned down by jealous husband, DeKalb County police say

Investigators said Salomon Ramos shot and killed 45-year-old Angeles Santos on Sunday evening after accusing her of having another man at the house. DeKalb County police are still searching for Ramos.

A widespread search is underway in DeKalb County for a man police say shot and killed his wife Sunday night. Salomon Ramos, 50, is wanted for murder. His wife’s family is pleading for the public’s help tracking him down.

"We’re heartbroken…we can’t explain it," the woman’s son Uriel Ramos said in an interview Monday.

He said of abuse his mother, Angeles Santos, suffered at the hands of his father came to a tragic end Sunday night at their home on Brantford Drive in Tucker.

"He went in there, he grabbed a gun and he shot her with my baby in her hand," he said. "I was so worried about it…the worst happening…and he did it."

Uriel recalled leaving the house with his sister just 10 minutes before the incident. They were helping sell plates of food his mother often cooked to make extra money.

According to DeKalb County investigators, his father had accused Santos of having another man over the home. Uriel told FOX 5 his father battled addiction and they had told him to leave the house permanently about three weeks ago.

"He was always drinking always doing drugs…he was never a good dad to us…she had a big heart and that’s why she was still trying to help him out," he explained.

With Ramos now on the run, Uriel said his family is concerned for their safety and what he might do next. DeKalb County police believe he is armed and dangerous.

"He’s dangerous you know…he’s not a good person," his son said.

Uriel said more than anything, his family wants his father caught and they want justice for his mother.

"We need everyone out looking…that’s it. That’s what I owe my mom," he said.

Family members set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.

Uriel said he believes his father may be trying to get to Arkansas where he has family or back to Mexico.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the DeKalb County Police Department or anonymously at Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
