Armed suspect tries to break into Jackson nursing home, sheriff says
BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. - The Butts County sheriff is investigating disturbing surveillance video that appears to show a man armed with a rifle trying to enter a nursing home in the middle of the night. This is happening at the Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing and Healing on McDonough Road in Jackson.
On Jan. 1 at around 2 a.m., investigators said the facility’s surveillance cameras picked up an armed man in the parking lot.
He was wearing a hoodie, carrying what appeared to be a pistol-grip shotgun. At times, he even pointed the shotgun.
Investigators there said the video showed him trying the door handles of cars in the nursing home parking lot. He eventually tried the door of the facility, but it appeared he did not enter.
Nothing was taken, but there has been plenty of concern about what he was up to.
The Butts County sheriff says a man tried to break into a Jackson nursing home on early New Year's morning.
The sheriff’s office said there is a joint investigation involving their office, Jackson Police and the FBI.
