Jimmy Carter birthday festivities

In less than 2 weeks, former President Jimmy Carter will turn 99. The Carter Center is planning on hosting a big party.

The Carter Center has announced that the birthday celebration that was planned at the Carter Presidential Library and Museum has been moved to Saturday because of a possible government shutdown. The birthday celebration from noon to 4 p.m. will include admission for just 99 cents (free for children ages 16 and under), crafts, games, trivia and a showing of "All the President's Men" at 1 p.m. There will also be food trucks in the library's parking area and the interactive birthday mosaic will be on display.

If the government shutdown is avoided, the birthday celebration will continue on Sunday, including 99-cent admission. There will also be a naturalization service to welcome 99 new U.S. citizens in honor of his birthday at 10 a.m.

The Carter Center is asking everyone to use #JimmyCarter99 on social media for birthday tributes.
