ATLANTA - Atlanta Police seized cash, drugs, and a gun from a southwest Atlanta convenience store, arresting seven people in a raid designed to shut down illegal drug sales within the store.
Police said the Thursday night operation at the Family Food Mart at 12 Atlanta Avenue SW off Hank Aaron Drive stemmed from police surveillance of the location and neighbor complaints regarding the possible illegal activity.
Seven individuals were arrested on charges related to guns or drugs.
Neighbors said they had been concerned for months over the gang and illegal activity surrounding the business.
Police said from the beginning of the year, they had filed 27 reports related to drug activity, fights suspicious persons or other incidents at the location.
Workers inside the store refused to provide comment to FOX 5 News on the incident.
