Caught on camera: car narrowly misses Georgia deputy
NEWNAN, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A deputy was almost struck by a high-speed driver while trying end a police pursuit with stop sticks in Coweta County.
Deputies were chasing a suspect in a stolen car early Monday morning. They said the driver of that car swerved at a deputy who was trying to deploy the stop stick and missed him by only inches.
The deputy was uninjured.
Johnson later crashed the SUV into a telephone pole and after a brief foot pursuit was brought down by a deputy’s Taser.
Under arrest was Rashawn Kahill Johnson. Deputies have charged him with aggravated assault, marijuana possession and theft by receiving stolen property.
