1 dead, 5 injured in Chamblee multi-car crash
CHAMBLEE, Ga. - Chamblee police say a serious three-car crash in their jurisdiction killed one person, sent five others to the hospital and shut down Buford Highway for several hours on Sunday.
It's still unclear what caused the crash, but the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration estimates a significant increase in crashes around the holidays.
Some of the reasons for the increased risk include increased travel, higher alcohol consumption and potential distractions associated with celebrations.
Their message for drivers every year is to use caution as you’re getting out on the road.
Information on the victims has not been shared yet. It's not clear whether officials are considering any charges related to the crash.
