An 11-year-old is dead after a fiery two-car accident caused by a wandering deer.

Gwinnett County Police said the traffic fatality happened in the 1100 block of Buford Highway. Police said a deer emerged from the right side of the roadway in the path of a southbound Subaru, driven by Yagi Fumio. The deer and the Subaru collided. That's when the Subaru swerved into the northbound lane and crashed head-on with a Honda Accord driven by Mateo Caymol.

Police said the Honda caught fire after the impact. Firefighters extinguished the fire and found 11-year-old Andrew Caymol deceased on the scene. Andrew, who is affectionately known as Drew, was a 5th grader at Level Creek Elementary School. Police said it does not appear that Andrew or Mateo were wearing seatbelts.

Three people were injured and transported to Gwinnett Medical Center.

No charges have been filed against either driver.
