ATLANTA - Police have made an arrest in a federal case of child rape that had connections to Georgia.
On Nov. 5, Jesus Torres was arrested in New Jersey after being charged with rape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on Oct. 18.
In October, New York's FBI office along with the New York State Police asked for the public's assistance in locating the suspect.
When Torres fled his residence in Goshen, NY that month, officials thought he may have been making his way to Atlanta or Florida where he was said to have family and friends.
While Torres is now in custody, the FBI is thanking all parties responsible for helping make the arrest.
