Church youth tackle trash in more than a dozen Atlanta neighborhoods
ATLANTA - The World Missionary Society Church Of God used their Sunday service for acts of service in south Fulton County.
"The main reason we came out here is to improve quality of life for people living in the community and also to get young people, university students involved in volunteer activity" organizer Angela Rotta said.
Nearly 200 young adults gathered from across the regional church campuses to tackle trash in more than a dozen neighborhoods. The effort was organized in partnership with the City Of Atlanta Council and Fulton County Law Enforcement.
Event organizers say the main focus of the event was to improve morale in the community, and hopefully have an impact of crime and blight.
"Even the small efforts we make and our young university students make, can bring about a positive change of mindset, better morale, and even better quality of life for the community" Rotta said.
